nick_rizzoAbout 4 months ago I was a new and struggling singer determined to learn how to singbut hated my voice. I tried to teach myself but only created badhabits. I was in Sam Ash Music store when I came across a business card that said "Who Says You Can't Sing." Lots of people, I thought. So I held on to the card for a few weeks and finally got up the courage to call. When I did, a warm friendly voice came on the phone and I instantly felt comfortable, 4 months later I've conquered my stage fright, learned the proper techniques I need to succeed in my music career and I am recording my first album and it sounds phenomenal. But most important is I gained a friend for life. I truly am a believer in the Voicercise lessons and will continue to improve my voice to the best of my ability.

I love you and thanks! -Nick Rizzo of Perfect Flaw.

chelsea_magnano

Hello, my name is Chelsea Magnano. I have been coming to Naomi and Roxy for a couple of months now. Ever since I could remember I have always been known as the talker. The loudest one in every class I ever took in school and in my family but when someone would hold a micro phone up to me or ask me to sing I would freeze up or become as silent as a mouse. All my acting or singing teachers always said, ‘How can someone so loud and talkative become super quiet when asked to sing?’ I never had an answer to that except simply: I hate to sing. Which was unfortunate since my career is performing and communicating.

Then one day my friend gave me her card and said call her now. I waited a couple of days nervous about calling her. I was afraid I would open my mouth and nothing would come out. Finally I got the courage to call her, and when she answered the phone I instantly new I made the correct decision. I scheduled for my consultation and new from my first singing lesson it made a difference. I wasn’t afraid to express myself through singing any more! The happiest day was when I walked into choir and my choir teacher had to stop and tell me, “You are amazing! I want you to be the lead vocalist for sopranos.” I was beaming because I knew that if I had not gotten the courage to call Naomi I would never be able to sing!

I just am a singer. I have attained this goal that I always wanted to attain! I can successfully say that I am now a trained actress, dancer and now singer! Thank you Naomi! This is my purpose and I couldn’t ask for a more helpful and awesome person to guide me on this journey I have created.

Thank you so much!!!! -Chelsea Magnano

angela_yazbeck_wrightI think I got sooo much better! Because NOW I like the sound of my voice! I think of you every time I sing! Its so funny. Do you REALIZE how many people think of you each day? Its crazy! I'm singing a song from the band “Black Horse and a Cherry Tree” right now but you got me listening to the EXACT runs and way they sing it and everything!  And I can do the runs ANDDDD make myself laugh afterwards because I thought it was really good!

Thanks, Love you guys! - Angela Wright

Singing has been a part of my life since childhood but some how. I stopped singing.
Now with the blocks removed I feel like a butterfly freed from a cocoon.
Thank you for showing me the way. - A.S.

Voicercise helped me focus my sound especially the higher notes. I can now hold higher notes longer. This technique works hand in hand with my classical training. You are truly inspiring and supportive. - H.K.

voice_student_malcolm_j_echaluce

Singing was a hidden passion of mine. I never told many people that I love to sing nor did I showcase any sort of vocal capabilities.Keeping this passion hidden for some time, however, didn’t do much good to my voice. I became very self-conscious about my singing because I kept it behind closed doors. Singing almost became frightening instead of something that I should be able to do freely.

When I first came to Naomi’s studio, I immediately felt comfortable. When she first asked me to sing (just so she can get a feel as to where I’m at vocally), for some reason, I wasn’t nervous at all. There was something about her that instantly made me feel that she was the one who was going to help me overcome problems that I was facing.

In addition to confidence issues, I felt that I was lacking power, range, consistency, and sustainability in my voice. All the techniques that Naomi gave me thus far have helped me tremendously. Not only am I able to sing in front of others without having a nervous breakdown, but I am now able to tackle songs that I never in my life thought I could do.

I highly recommend Naomi. Naomi T Kaye will always have a special place in my heart.  Because of her, this passion is no longer hidden.  I owe Naomi so much for being the best instructor I’ve ever had.  She’s been a wonderful mentor and most importantly, a friend.  Thank you so much, Naomi!  - Malcolm J Echaluce

debra_sosaI have been a dancer all my life, but other than a short timesinging with the church choir, and in the shower, I really never sang. One day, my good friend heard me singing to the radio and told me he thought I could sing. I said “you’re crazy”, but reluctantly agreed to sing a song that he had written. He posted it on Broadjam and next thing you know we had an agent and there were movie producers interested in the song, except for one problem… they wanted to hear only the vocals. Naturally, I panicked. In seeking a vocal coach, I knew it had to be someone special who could get my voice ready in a jiffy. I prayed to God to guide me to the right coach. While at Sam Ash, I came upon Naomi’s business card, and gave her a call. I knew the moment I saw her warm smile and felt her welcoming hug that she was God sent!!!

She accommodated me right away. We worked together twice a week for 2 months. She helped me with my range, volume and harmonies, but the thing she helped me with, of greatest importance, was my confidence! I learned what was holding me back from singing and before long, I was belting that song out. I went back to NY, armed with my new found confidence, my vocal exercises and the throat spray Naomi had recommended! I sang my little heart out and my friend, now my partner, couldn’t believe the difference.

Well, we landed the contract with those movie producers, who later decided to name the movie after our song, “Hang in there Baby”. The movie will be released in 2010, starring Meg Ryan and ours is the theme song for the movie. Wow!!!

As my partner and I wrote more songs, I brought them one by one to Naomi, who helped me with my pitch, and taught me how to do runs and harmonies. We recorded the songs and later decided to ask Naomi to assist us with arranging the songs. When President Obama was elected in November, 2008, my partner and I were so excited that we wrote a song called “It’s a New Day”. Naomi and Roxy agreed to sing the harmonies and background vocals. Once again, our song got the attention of our agent, who submitted it to the Committee for the President. I’m told President Obama himself, listened to our song and loved it. Just a few weeks later we received a Letter from the Office of the President – it was a Recording License for our song! Amazing!!!

There are no words suitable to express the gratitude we have for Naomi and Voicercise for making all of this possible. Just today, we received a letter from Hill Top Records in California. They too are interested in our music. It’s all a dream come true!!!

We couldn’t have done it without Naomi T Kaye and Voicercise.
In love and gratitude-
Debra Sosa and Mark Monte

Just a brief note to let you know how splendidly my actors are coming along in the show since you’ve been helping with their voices. They are all much stronger and have widened their ranges considerably. As you know eight shows per week can be a strain (especially the second show Saturday night before we fall apart for the weekend!) but they have been managing rather well and rarely do I hear complaints of sore throats from misused voices. Take care and keep up the good work. - K.B.

Voicercise Home Vocal Training Testimonial

It was great to find someone with the technique I had been searching for, for years.I now sing with more confidence in my ability to hit the right notes without my voice breaking. - R.B.

I learned what I’ve been doing wrong for years once I began Voicercises. People will now hear me sing. - C.S.

I’ve always, always, always wanted to sing. Now I’m on my way. - M.A.

Just from doing the Voicercise Seminar my range expanded as soon as I opened my mouth to sing. It came out alto and I’m a soprano.

I’ve always had trouble with the lower range but it came out fine.
Then she let me do it again in my original range and it was such
a release to sing without so much reservation. - S.P.

Be a Powerhouse Performer Workshop Testimonial

I am my voice That’s it. It’s Simple.

But before I did the “Stage Fright Workshop” It was a lot more complicated then that. This workshop not onlyvoice_student_montana_walet helped me overcome the scary sensations I feel when singing in front of other people, but it . also took me on a soul searching adventure. What did I find? My Strength and my Courage. The two things I knew I needed to become a great singer, but never possessed.

So I get there and I’m slightly shaking, Let’s be honest, the unknown Scares us to DEATH! No one knows what she’s going to make us do. We ask ourselves questions that we can’t answer:
“Will she make me sing in front of all the people?”
“Will the People there laugh at me?”
“Is Naomi secretly leading me to death??”

Well, I can testify the above questions aren’t true. When you’re there, you find out that you’re all in the same boat. Everyone is just as scared as you are, if not more. No one will laugh at you, unless you’re telling a joke. Naomi never made us sing in front of people unless we were ready and choose to. And clearly, she won’t kill you, I Promise!

We Learned these awesome drills that handle the nervous sensations you feel before and at performing. Afterwards when we were done. I realized, that I wasn’t scared anymore. Now I feel like I own the world!!!! I can stand up on a table in a packed restaurant and start singing without a care! Knowing I’m able to that is incredible. And if those frightening sensations ever come back. (Butterflies, Anxiety, Nervousness Etc.) I know how to handle it. - Montana Walet

I learned to face an audience and forget my Stage Fright, I can sing and dance all I want, and not care what anyone else thinks. The workshop was fun. - JH

This was a really great Workshop. I got so much out of It., and my dreams were rekindled. The gradient was just right. I do want to live which means to communicate. I got so much- thank you! - KM

All I can say is wow! This workshop was awesome. I came in shaking, short of breath, sweating when on stage; and left being able to sing a song with little or no nervousness. It was very cool. I thank Mrs. Kaye for that.KL

I started out the day with difficulty just asking a question from the audience, (let alone from the stage!) I gained so much in the three hours that by the time I got up on stage the second time- I had so much gain I was already very, very comfortable and composed. Naomi is a GREAT Stage Fright Workshop giver! - HF
