Billie Eilish – Star on the Rise

Are voice lessons worth the money?

Young music talents are always a shock to society but none have been as shocking as rising star Billie Eilish whose music is shocking all in itself.

Billie Eilish is known for her rather dark and controversial content with songs like “bury a friend” and “all the good girls go to hell.” There’s no doubt the girl has a beautiful singing voice, she can go from a whispery sound to a pretty falsetto.

Billie’s Unique Sound Influences

She names Lana Del Rey as one of her biggest music influences which is pretty clear when you browse through her songs. Her sound is a good mix of pop and electric, some songs making you want to jump up and down and others making you want to sit in a corner in deep thought. Talk about variety!

Billie is a natural singer and songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Born to two creative parents, she and her brother grew up in an environment that was encouraging to their inner creative being.

Bille Started Her Journey in Fame At Age 8!

Finneas O’Connell, Eilish’s brother, has a lot to do with the success she is experiencing now. He produces a lot of her music and they co-write often. The siblings were homeschooled and made music in their free time. Billie even joined the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus when she was 8 years old.

Billie EilishAt the age of 13 Billie recorded her fist single with Finneas called “Ocean Eyes” which was recorded in 2013. They put the song on SoundCloud three years later and that same year (2016) the song went completely viral. Internet power is real people! If anything, this should show you that putting your work out there is important because you never know who is listening and liking.

Billie signed to Darkroom and Interscope Records on November 18, 2016 solely based off of her first song. It was so good that she released an EP the next year with 4 remixes to that same song!

But Bille’s First EP Started it ALLL

In 2017 she finally released her debut EP titled, “Don’t Smile at Me.” The title totally reflects her moody teenager personality.

Billie has expressed in many interviews how fame has been a battle for her because of all the weird, unwanted attention she receives. But of course she is grateful for the success, so it is understandable that this overnight fame is a bit shocking for her.

The coolest thing about this EP was that each Friday after the release, she would release a new track.

This kept the EP exciting for Eilish’s fans in that month of July, and was also an awesome marketing tool to keep ratings and streams rising.

In 2018 Billie began releasing singles hinting at her debut album coming soon, which is titled, “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?”

She collaborated with singer Khalid and even did a song that was used in a promotional video for the boxing match between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. “You Should See Me in a Crown” became more that just a promotional song and actually topped charts in many countries.

The record was certified gold in the U.S., Australia, and Canada. The debut album was finally released on March 4, 2019 and debuted on the Billboard 200 and UK Albums Chart. This accomplishment actually made her the first artist born in the 2000’s to have a number one album in the U.S.

She’s Got Such An Interesting Way of Expressing Herself

Billie Eilish’s steady rising stardom is only just beginning and we at Voicercise are excited to see how this young artist flourishes. She’s got such an interesting way of expressing herself in the purest form that she truly separates herself from many pop artists in the game today. She is a natural born star but it was her passion that allowed her to fulfill her wildest dreams at the young age of 13.

After just a few years she is now one of music’s most talked about artists. For me, it was the twisted song titles that got me interested but her entire vibe kept me enticed for hours.

Billie is no doubt an artist to watch, it is incredible to think how young she is and how much better she will get as she ages.
