How To Stay Motivated With Singing

  • Singing Goals
  • Measuring Progress
  • Looking For Opportunities

Genres Staying motivated with singing can be hard when writing or practicing a song.

Setting goals is a great way to keep yourself enticed while you’re perfecting your overall sound. Measure your progress and create a routine for your practice.

Looking for opportunities is another way to keep you motivated and passionate about trying new things.

Motivation in singing is all about perspective, and perspective is something that changes overtime.

Get quiet, and think about what truly motivates you in pursuing music.

Singing Goals

Genres Setting goals in music is the best way to keep yourself motivated.

If you have not established your goals then you won’t know what to practice to make the improvement. There are different types of goals.

Long term and short term. A long term goal could be expanding your range, whereas a short term goal could be mastering a song.

Think of your short term goals as things you can improve within a week or 2. Long term goals should be something you plan to meet in a month or more time.

The goals you create for yourself, musically, can be endless. There are so many things a person can work on vocally.

Ultimately, it will be meeting your goals that motivates you to make more and complete more.

Measuring Progress

Genres For some people, it is easy to lose motivation when you aren’t seeing the fruits of your labor. Success will be a heavy motivator.

Ask yourself if you have spent enough time practicing to meet your goal. Progress is all derived from how much time you spend practicing.

If you find that you’re spending one day a week practicing, it may be wise to increase the amount of days you do practice.

Record yourself singing a song, wait 4 weeks, and record yourself again. This is a valid way to notice the difference in your voice.

This will make for more consistency in singing, but also outline what you have improved on so you can continue to grow.

Looking For Opportunities

Look for opportunities and places to perform. The uncomfortability that comes with singing is more likely the less practice you do.

Look for places like karaoke, open mics, festivals, or local events that allow you to perform.

This can give you something to look forward to and motivate you to practice towards an accomplishment.

Many people wish to improve their singing for different reasons.

The drive to flourish in singing will come the more you surprise yourself.
