Many people agree that Adele is one of the greatest singers of our time.
Adele creates music that can make you feel every single lyric and emotion over something as simple as a car ride.
Adele is just as strong as she is talented after going through problems with her vocal cords. As she is such a passionate artist, we know that this was hard for her to cope with.
Many people had no idea what was going on with Adele. We went from belting ”Rolling in the Deep” to desperately awaiting new music over the course of 4 years. We thought she had given up on us.
Come to find out, she was having issues with a vocal cord hemorrhage and had to undergo throat surgery. Adele said the problem actually came from speaking too much and smoking a lot, not singing.
Luckily, Adele’s problem was “very fixable,”
According to her doctor, but she would have to refrain from any work until she was fully recovered.
A vocal hemorrhage happens when blood leaks into the vocal fold from an injured blood vessel. Voice overuse, singing aggressively or incorrectly, coughing, and shouting can cause hemorrhages.
The most effective treatment for hemorrhages begins with an early diagnosis. If you think that you’re experiencing this issue, let us know and we could give you some great advice on the next steps.
In 2015, she came back stronger than ever and released her 3rd studio album “25.” Her album hit #1 in 10 countries and made 20 million dollars in sales.
Adele’s experience teaches us 2 lessons:
-
1. It is important to take care of your singing voice in every way possible and
-
2. Give yourself proper healing time. Timing is everything in life, it’s always better to come at your best.
