How To Audition For The Voice
Did you know, that to audition for The Voice, you need to meet a few eligibility requirements?
For Instance, you must be a legal resident of the US, at least 15 years old and in good physical/mental health, you agree to submit to a background check, and you cannot be a candidate for public office.
If you have decided that you wanted to audition for the Voice, but don’t know how to make sure you’re ready, here are the steps you’ll need to know.
Once you finish the steps below, you’ll be able to play with and create an artist account on The Voice audition website. Once activated, you may upload videos of yourself performing your audition, which might give you the chance to get real feedback from a producer on the show!

How To Prepare
You’ll need 2 songs for your open call audition. They should be songs, that feel natural to you, and show you’re strengths. One of the songs should be the main song, and the other used as a backup, if the producer asks for another song.
A CAPPELLA ONLY at the open call auditions.
NO background tracks, NO accompaniment, NO instruments. Guitars also not allowed.
Songs can be by any artist and from any genre (pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop, alternative, Latin, country, blues, indie). Family, friends, managers, vocal instructors, etc. will NOT be allowed at the audition.
If you are under 18 or are otherwise a minor in your home state, one parent or guardian will be allowed with you at the audition.
Come dressed in a style that represents you as an artist, but in comfortable to be at the audition all day. We suggest bringing snacks and water. Please check the weather in your audition city and plan accordingly as some audition venues have outside waiting areas.
The Voice Coaches will NOT be at the open call auditions.
You may be asked to stay for a call back please plan accordingly.
What To Expect At The Voice Auditions
There will be thousands of aspiring stars waiting to audition, girls and guys of all ages and skill levels. You’ll be assigned an audition time slot, then you’ll be led to an audition room in groups of 10.
Each vocalist auditions in front of the group and the casting judge, first introducing his or herself and the song, then singing their verse and chorus. After all 10 have completed their initial auditions, casting judges will determine if any of the 10 will make it to the callback round.
